Rob Avery-Phipps

I graduated from the Department of Geography at Sheffield University. My China journey began as Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar studying a master’s in International Relations at the University of Nottingham Ningbo Campus. After graduation, I worked at the United Nations in Beijing as a Communications Officer for the Greater Tumen Initiative. When I returned to the UK in 2014 I established the China Britain Regional Initiative to help better connect UK and China at a regional government level. CBRI has contracts to represent a number of Councils in China. I think regional cooperation is a crucial part of relations between UK and China and is a great tool to help increase bilateral exchanges in trade, investment, culture and people-to-people.

I hope CBRI will be a pioneer that demonstrates the incredible value both economically and culturally regional links between UK and China can have.
