Located in Warwickshire, Stratford-on-Avon is home to a number of world renown names including Shakespeare, Jaguar Landrover, Aston Martin. Stratford-on-Avon District Council has been exploring potential collaboration opportunities in China based on its success in collaborating with Fuzhou Municipal Government on cultural exchanges around the two national poets, Shakespeare and Tang Xianzu.
CBRI has been partnering with Stratford-on-Avon District Council since 2018 to explore and initiate opportunities in China. CBRI’s main responsibilities include:
- Advising Stratford-on-Avon District Council regarding regional affairs with Fuzhou and wider affairs with China
- Shadowing Cllr. Christopher Kettle China Lead of Stratford-on-Avon District Council at Fuzhou and China related activities, providing live advice on all aspects and levels
- Facilitating and troubleshooting at all levels
November 2018 Cllr. Christopher Kettle China Lead of Stratford-on-Avon District Council attending China International Friendship Cities Conference (Wuhan) and receiving award for the Council’s achievement with Fuzhou
June 2019 Cllr. Christopher Kettle China Lead of Stratford-on-Avon District Council attending International Cultural Industry Parks Development Forum (Beijing) as keynote speakers to introduce Shakespeare’s England with Ms Helen Peters CEO of the project
